Today, STEM Aces and Grade 12 students participated in a school-based tree-planting drive. They planted langka seedlings, a succulent and nourishing fruit that can also help combat climate change. Each langka tree can absorb up to 22 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year, making them natural air purifiers. This activity was part of the Philippine Environment Month celebration, organized by the Cabanatuan City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO). As students, being environmentally conscious and proactive is a must in creating a more sustainable city.
As the renowned naturalist John Muir said, “๐ฝ๐๐ฉ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐ค ๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ ๐๐จ ๐ ๐๐ค๐ค๐ง๐ฌ๐๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ง๐ก๐.” Letโs open that door and embrace the wonders of nature. Trees are the earthโs endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.
